Anima insulae – Nyssiros
“Anima Insulae” is a research on the relationship between people living on small islands and their environment. The limits given by the geographical boundaries (that isolate and connect at the same time) and the community cohesion shape deeply collective life and individual self-perception.
The project focuses on three key aspects: the landscapes talks about the singularity of this place, how is shaped and shapes human life. The panegyris (holy festival), as an important gathering of the community, celebrates the shared social identity. Shepherds represent an archaic and traditional link between human life and the fragile ecology of the island.
